Statue of Unity is a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, built on the banks of River Narmada, overlooking Sardar Sarovar Dam in Gujarat.
World’s tallest, the Statue of Unity is an honorable tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. Overlooking the Sardar Sarovar Dam, the grand statue stands atop Sadhu Bet Island on the Narmada River. Flaunting the height of 182 m, the statue has left China’s Spring Buddha Temple (153 m) a long way behind. Interestingly, the colossal statue was a gift to the man who united India, on his 143rd birthday.
Govt lines up events at Statue of Unity to give tourism a boost. The Statue of Unity witnesses a daily footfall average of 8,000 visitors.
The Sardar Sarovar project was a vision of the first deputy prime minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The Statue of Unity is placed here to honor the Iron man of India.
The Statue of Unity is the world’s tallest statue, with a height of 182 metres, located near Kevadia in the state of Gujarat, India. It depicts Indian statesman and independence activist Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the first deputy prime minister and home minister of independent India and an adherent of Mahatma Gandhi.
