JLS stands for ‘Jack the Lad Swing’, combining the musical genre ‘new jack swing’ with the phrase ‘Jack the Lad’. The name was shortened to its initials during their time on ‘The X Factor’ in 2008.
If you’re a fan of JLS, you’re going to want to hear this news (again). A reunion tour by the English boyband has been confirmed, and it will stop in more than a dozen cities across the UK and Ireland.
For those who are unaware, JLS is a quartet made up of Aston Merrygold, Oritsé Williams, Marvin Humes, and JB Gill. Back in 2008, they were in second place on the talent competition TV show “The X Factor.” They went on to have a number of success singles, including the platinum-selling “Beat Again” and “Everyone in Love,” before breaking up in 2013. In 2019, they announced their first-ever reunion and a new album and tour.
