Juan Diego Flores joins his most famous peers for a spectacular gala concert celebrating a special 20th anniversary edition of the Abu Dhabi Festival. The Peruvian opera star, renowned for his high tenor conducting, will sing a captivating repertoire of operatic arias in the first part of the concert, accompanied by Italian maestro Vincenzo Scalera on piano.
Flores devotes the second half of his program of concerts to his Latin American popular music from Peru, Mexico, Venezuela and Argentina. “This music goes straight to the heart…because it deals with things that directly affect us all: home, family, the joys of love, the pain of love,” he explains. Accompanied by an instrumental ensemble of piano, guitar, trumpet and drums conducted by Jonathan Bolivar, the acclaimed tenor’s electrifying performance brings his world-famous bel canto voice to the music he loves. and offers a beautiful repertoire of songs.
