
The proposal includes the construction of a 14.2-kilometer, 15-station metro line connecting Meenchantha and the Medical College. A comprehensive project report will be prepared by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC), who has been entrusted as general consultant. The depot was built on 5.20 hectares (12.8 acres) of government-owned vacant land approximately 500 meters (1,600 ft) east of the Medical College Hostel Station.
The monorail will be built in his two stages. The first is between Medical College and Mananchira and the second he is between Mananchira and Meenchantha. The project will require approximately 10.65 hectares (26.3 acres) of land, 80% of which will be state land.

Kozhikode Metro Project to Cost Around Rs. 2,773 Crores
January 2023: The Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) has been asked to prepare the best metro rail model for Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram. KMRL will prepare the metro project’s comprehensive mobility plan (CMP) and alternate analysis report (AAR).
The plan will be made separately for both cities. MD of KMRL, Mr Loknath Bahera, has requested the cooperation of the Mayor of both cities. A light metro rail model has been proposed for Kozhikode, but a comprehensive plan is yet to be made. The KMRL plans to turn the Kozhikode metro project into a reality in the next five years.
The CMP is expected to be finished by the end of March 2023. The AAR report will take an estimated one month after the approval of CMP. KMRL will also be responsible for carrying out the construction work related to the metro project. KMRL has also designated Rs 2,773 Crores for the Kozhikode metro project.
