Nashik Metro ticket

Nashik Metro, also known as Metro NEO, is a bus rapid transit system intended to be constructed in Nashik, Maharashtra by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Company Ltd (Maha-Metro), City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), and Maharashtra Industrial Corporation (MIDC).

This system’s electric bus coaches will measure 25 metres in length, roll on rubber wheels, and have a passenger capacity of 250. The anticipated overall system capacity is 15,000 PPHPD (Passengers Per Hour Per Direction). On elevated parts, coaches will be powered by an overhead electrical (OHE) system, while on road sections, they will rely on battery power.

The system may be expanded to a rail-based light rail transit (LRT) system in the future, according to Maha-managing Metro’s director, Brijesh Dixit.

The detailed project report (DPR) for Phase 1 of the Nashik Metro was completed by RITES Ltd. and authorised by the Maharashtra cabinet in August 2019. It is now awaiting permission from the Central Government. The state government aims to get a loan from the European Investment Bank for its expansion (EIB).

Nashik Metro Feeder Bus Lines

Feeder AC electric coaches will be 12-13 meter long with a carrying capacity of 60-70 passengers.

MahaMetro Presents Plan To PMO For Nashik Metro; Opening Doors For Smaller Cities With ‘Metro Neo

The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation (Maha Metro) on 15 February 2023 presented the Nashik Metro Neo Project at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in Delhi.

Brijesh Dixit, the managing director of MahaMetro, gave a detailed presentation about the entire Metro Neo project with technical specifications and the detailed project report (DPR).

MahaMetro is working on the feasibility of implementing the Metro Neo system in cities having a population of up to 20 lakh, with Nashik being a frontrunner, its managing director Brijesh Dixit said on Saturday.

The ‘Metro Neo’ is a trolley bus system with overhead electric traction and rubber tyres, and has the capability of being upgraded to a light metro system.

The Centre and the state government are viewing this development positively, he said at the foundation day programme of the MahaMetro here.

He said the second phase of Nagpur Metro rail will be completed in the next five years, with work set to begin from April.

The 44.5-kilometre second phase comprises a 19-km stretch till Butibori, a 7-km stretch from Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna, a 13-km route from Automotive Chowk to Kanhan and 5.5 km stretch from Prajapti Nagar to Kapsi, he said.
