IRCTC website resumes operations after 11 hours: Passengers demand refunds for ticket bookings

Tuesday 25 July was a tough day for Indian rail travelers as the state-owned rail booking platform IRCTC went down and many passengers ran out of tickets. Passengers complained that the ticket booking portal was unavailable for more than 10 hours.
A Twitter account shared that the service was discontinued due to technical issues.
Immediately after the portal resumed services, passengers with reservations received a notification regarding the amount deducted from their accounts. The Twitter account was inundated with messages from passengers requesting refunds from the portal.
The reservation issue is now resolved. App irctc.co.in/nget/train-sea and Rail Connect are now working. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. The IRCTC PRS ticket booking website experienced technical difficulties from 02:56 to 13:28. As of 13:28, the IRCTC website is working fine.
