Tuesday 25 July was a tough day for Indian rail travelers as the state-owned rail booking platform IRCTC went down and many passengers ran out of tickets. Passengers complained that the ticket booking portal was unavailable for more than 10 hours.

A Twitter account shared that the service was discontinued due to technical issues.

Immediately after the portal resumed services, passengers with reservations received a notification regarding the amount deducted from their accounts. The Twitter account was inundated with messages from passengers requesting refunds from the portal.

The reservation issue is now resolved. App and Rail Connect are now working. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused. The IRCTC PRS ticket booking website experienced technical difficulties from 02:56 to 13:28. As of 13:28, the IRCTC website is working fine.
