The romantic comedy trend seems to be reigniting at the Indian box office. 2023 is often described as a “dead genre,” but there have already been enough pleasant surprises. Will Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani by Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt add value? Well, at least for day one, Karan Johar’s direction is off to a good start.

For those unfamiliar, the upcoming romantic comedy, set to release on July 28, 2023, marks Karan Johar’s first return to the screen as a director in nearly seven years. A few days ago, the trailer for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani was released, and to many, it seemed that Ranveer Singh had regained his wacky comedy intensity. The actor added quirks to his flamboyant personality to make his Rocky adorable. Aria Bhatt, on the other hand, charms us with her innocence and pleasant presence. Needless to say, the chemistry between them is easily attractive.

And then there are the strong supporting characters Rocky Owl Rani Kii Prem Kahani. Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azumi all contribute to a classy and emotional ride. The film has the typical Karan Johar template and is charming to say the least. Packed with lots of fun, romance, emotion and a charming family story, his RARKPK is like the real romantic his comedic family his drama that Bollywood has been waiting for.

Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s trailer isn’t perfect yet, but it does a good job and adds to the excitement of the movie. Based on the impressions given, the blockbuster film is expected to gross between $12 billion and $150 billion on its opening day in India. So it is likely to surpass E Dil Hai Mushkir’s 13.3 billion, making this Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starter Karan Johar the biggest opener in history.
