Burman on Saturday, 29th June 2024. Well-known playback singers Alok Katdare, Dhanashri Deshpande, Jay Ajgaonakr and Gul Saxena will perform hits of R.D. Burman. R.D. Burman, or Rahul Dev Burman, was an iconic figure in Indian music, known for his revolutionary compositions that shaped the Bollywood music scene. Born on June 27, 1939, and passing away on January 4, 1994, his legacy continues to inspire generations. R.D. Burman, often lovingly called Pancham da, was the son of renowned music director S.D. Burman. He started his career as an assistant to his father but soon emerged as a trailblazer in his own right, blending various genres like rock, jazz, funk, and Indian classical music into his compositions.
