In a thrilling encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) registered a commanding victory over the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 46th league match of the IPL 2024 T20 cricket series.

Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first. Despite a shaky start, CSK posted a formidable total of 212/3 in their allotted 20 overs, thanks to brilliant performances by Ruturaj Gaikwad and Daryl Mitchell. Gaikwad, who was in spectacular form, fell agonizingly short of a century, scoring 98 runs off just 52 balls, while Mitchell contributed a valuable 52 runs.

In response, the Sunrisers Hyderabad faltered under the pressure of a daunting target. Tushar Deshpande wreaked havoc with the ball, picking up three crucial wickets to dismantle the Hyderabad batting line-up. Travis Head, Anmolpreet Singh, and Abhishek Sharma were among his victims as Hyderabad struggled to keep up with the required run rate.

Despite efforts from Nitish Reddy, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abdul Samad, the Sunrisers Hyderabad fell short, managing only 134 runs before being bowled out in 18.5 overs.

Tushar Deshpande, Mustafizur Rahman, and Pathirana starred with the ball for Chennai, picking up crucial wickets to seal the victory for their team.

Jakes Petty was awarded the Man of the Match for his exceptional performance, helping Chennai Super Kings maintain their unbeaten record against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

With this victory, Chennai Super Kings have surged to the 3rd position in the points table with a net run rate of 0.81, pushing Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Delhi behind.
