In the 41st league match of the IPL cricket series held yesterday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, the Sunrisers Hyderabad faced a disappointing defeat against the Bengaluru Royal Challengers. The Sunrisers, who had been displaying remarkable performances in their previous matches, lost by 35 runs, leaving fans disheartened.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, the Bengaluru team amassed 206 runs, losing 7 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, the Sunrisers managed to score only 171 runs, falling short of the target set by RCB.

Speaking about the defeat, Sunrisers team captain Pat Cummins expressed his disappointment, stating, “Tonight was not our night. We conceded too many runs in some overs of bowling. Similarly, in batting, we lost a few wickets in succession in the beginning and we were not able to go towards the target successfully.”

Cummins also mentioned that their strategy of batting first has been more successful for the team, saying, “If we bat first, we can score a lot of runs. That’s the trick that works for our team. Before we got some early hits, we were hoping to win if we bowled first. But it didn’t go our way.”

Acknowledging that T20 cricket is unpredictable and no team can win all matches consecutively, Cummins remained optimistic about his team’s performance, stating, “I believe this team will be our strongest team. We will definitely return to the winning track after eliminating these shortcomings.”

With this defeat, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team now holds the third position in the IPL standings with 10 points. Despite this setback, the team remains determined to bounce back stronger in the upcoming matches.
