The 17th edition of the IPL cricket series in India has now reached its peak stage. With half the matches of the series almost over, the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals are at the top of the points table with 8 wins from nine matches. Rajasthan Royals have been strengthening their team for the last few years and this year the team is showing a very good performance. The batting and bowling have been very good, so the Rajasthan team has been beating even the big teams.

However, there are a few flaws in the Rajasthan team. In that way, Ravichandran Ashwin, the spinner of Tamil Nadu, has so far taken only two wickets in the 8 matches played in this IPL series and has been exhibiting modest bowling. This time the runs in his over are going more than the specified amount. His place is currently in debate as he is struggling to take wickets, conceding more than 9 runs per over.

In this case, former Indian team player Sehwag has expressed concern about Ashwin’s bowling. He said about this: “He was sidelined from the Indian team after the Champions Trophy series in 2017. Because he can’t take the opponent’s wickets in the middle overs. He avoids wicket-taking deliveries as he tries to restrict the runs. As far as T20 cricket is concerned, if the ball is bowled to limit the runs, it will put pressure on the other bowlers. Ashwin does not bowl with the intent to take wickets even if he concedes runs. So for me, I will not include him in future matches.”

It is noteworthy that Sehwag said that it seems that he may not even be sold in the auction for the next season.
